Each week Easy101 and Husky Travel Centre are teaming up to recognize someone who has given back to the community. If you know of someone who deserves to be honoured as the ‘Husky Hero of the week’ with a $25 Gift certificate from the Husky Travel Centre, please click here to submit your story.

WEEK 180 HUSKY HERO - Linda Currie

This week's Husky Hero is Linda Currie. Linda works with a lot of older people and people with disabilities. She has very good patience and is a certified stocking fitter. She goes out of her way to their homes for all her clients and on her own time as well. She is known for her kindness and gentleness.

WEEK 179 HUSKY HERO - Lindsey Rounds

This week's Husky Hero is Lindsey Rounds of St.Thomas. During her last two years of high school, she organized a 24 hour basketball fundraising drive to raise money for charity groups. Lindsey is currently doing a co-op placement at East Elgin Community Centre where she has been implementing a similar concept called Hockey for a Chance with proceeds going to Jump Start. Lindsey age 19 is always willing to step forward to help others less fortunate when they are in need.

WEEK 178 HUSKY HERO - Gerry Glazier

This week's Husky Hero is Gerry Glazier. Gerry, who just turned 80 has volunteered every week for the past several years creating meaningful horse driving experiences for people with disabilities. Gerry is responsible for training SARI's miniature horses to pull a wagon and a cart, teaching 2 individuals to drive to a competition level, providing wagon rides during summer camp, driving in Santa Claus parades, bringing donations to the charity and so much more.

WEEK 177 HUSKY HERO - Connor Aarts

This week's Husky Hero is 14 year old Connor Aarts. During the summer of 2015 Connor Aarts was playing soccer when Andrew Stoddart collapsed and later died. After feeling helpless Connor Aarts raised over $4000 in an effort to help support Andrew's Legacy a charitable organization started by The Stoddart family in hopes to have AED's in all school and sports fields across Ontario. In just under two years the foundation has placed 22 AED defibrillators. The $4000 that was raised by Connor helped to purchase two defibrillators.

WEEK 176 HUSKY HERO - Marianne Kersten

This week's Husky Hero is Marianne Kersten of Langton. Marianne has been leading a group of women who have been knitting hats and scarves and sending to many schools for the last 7 years. Marianne is also a volunteer at her church.
