Each week Easy101 and Husky Travel Centre are teaming up to recognize someone who has given back to the community. If you know of someone who deserves to be honoured as the ‘Husky Hero of the week’ with a $25 Gift certificate from the Husky Travel Centre, please click here to submit your story.

WEEK 197 HUSKY HERO - Neil Poworoznyk

This weeks Husky Hero is Neil Poworoznyk from Kitchener, On. Neil always goes above and beyond helping members with lawn care and snow blowing, looking after the equipment, and the storage shed. Neil never hesitates helping some of the neighbours in wheel chairs and over the last several months Neil has helped both his cousin and a friend who are struggling with kidney disease.

WEEK 196 HUSKY HERO - Kevin Worts

This week's Husky Hero is Kevin Worts of London. Kevin works at a grocery store as a cart boy in London. Kevin is a hard working guy. He collects the quarters that get left in the carts and saves them up until he has enough to buy a big bag of dog or cat food. He then drops off the big bag of animal food at a local shelter.

WEEK 195 HUSKY HERO - Karen DaSilva

This weeks Husky Hero is Karen DaSilva of Lambeth. Karen is constantly giving back to her community in many ways. She has been an active member on the Lambeth Minor Hockey Board for many years and is now the fundraising rep on the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs AAA hockey board. Karen is always willing to help and will always bring an army of volunteers. Her latest fundraising endeavour is the upcoming OHL London Knights exhibition game in Komoka in September 16th.

WEEK 194 HUSKY HERO - Denise Lapointe

This week's Husky Hero is Denise Lapointe of London. Denise is always helping someone. She gives rides to her friends to doctor and chiropractic appointments, stores, and the food bank as needed. In the case of an emergency she drops everything to help out. She helps everyone she can, though she has limited mobility. Her car is a golden chariot for many people. She also volunteers at a library and volunteers at her church and helps deliver food baskets once a month.

WEEK 193 HUSKY HERO - Clair Whyte

This week's Husky Hero is Clair Whyte of Sarnia. Clair decided in early 2017 to arrange a reunion for former military members who served with The Royal Canadian Regiment. The reunion took place in early August with stops at Wolosley Barracks in London for Memorial Service, tour of the museum and spirit de corps followed with a Banquet Victory Branch Royal Canadian Legion.
