Research In Motion shares closed up another five per cent on the Toronto Stock Exchange, extending gains the Blackberry maker had made in the previous session.

The Waterloo-based company's stock closed Friday up 41 cents to $8.22.

The jump follows a gain of nearly five per cent Thursday.

R-I-M shares have been pummelled over the past week after announcing delays to its Blackberry 10 operating system and the layoffs of five-thousand employees.

R-I-M will hold its annual meeting in Waterloo on Tuesday.
