A fire near the Simcoe-area community of Renton caused 80-thousand dollars damage to a garage and its contents.
Crews from Simcoe, Port Dover and Waterford responded to 1152 Cockshutt road around 8 0'clock this (Saturday) morning to deal with a structure fire.
Prevention officer Scott Pipe says upon arrival, firefighters discovered heavy smoke and flames coming from a 20 by 30 detached garage that was located behind a home.
The fire was brought under control in about a half hour.
No injuries and cause is under investigation.
