A good samaritan remains in hospital with a serious stab wound after confronting a man in a smash and grab robbery in downtown Brantford.
Police have not identified the merchant who was robbed late Friday afternoon when two teens smashed glass display cases and ran off with a quantity of valuables.
Police reveal that a man living in the area saw what had taken place and stopped one of the suspects. Police say that's when the good samaritan was stabbed. He remains in hospital in Hamilton in stable condition. The name of the stabbing victim was not released.
Police have charged 18 year old Tyler Difelice of West Street with attempted murder, aggravated assault and robbery.
A 17 year old youth who can not be identified has been charged with robbery.
