The project to re-construct McKeller Street in Strathroy has been put on hold until 2018.
Although it was given the go ahead for construction to start this year, council made the decision after hearing concerns from Union Gas, which wishes to replace underground natural gas lines along the street as well.
Also, the municipality has not yet heard whether it will receive the provincial funding of $1 million dollars for this project.
While that gets sorted out, design work for the project will begin this year. Once the design is finalized, the municipality will seek bids on the project and construction will commence in 2018.
