Woodstock Police are warning residents, they have received a number of reports about foxes within the city limits.

The reports have centered around the Southside Park, Victoria Street, Ferguson Street and around the downtown in alleyways.

The foxes are coming into town looking for food and can pose a danger to pets like cats or small dogs.

They generally feed on rodents and other small animals but are attracted to garbage scraps and even dog feces.

You are encouraged to not leave your pet tied up outside and clean up after them.

Get rid of any debris on your property that could attract small rodents that could in-turn attract foxes and make sure your garbage and green bins are animal proof.

Police remind you, if a wild animal poses an immediate threat to public safety, call them.
