Pulling over an erratic driver on the weekend turned into much more for the OPP. Saturday morning, police stopped a vehicle near Exeter and Wellington Roads, in London. It reportedly had failed to remain at the scene of a collision.

When officers appraoched, the driver reversed, nearly striking the officer and crashing into a gas pump and then took off. Then police found the vehicle parked but the driver smashed into the police cruiser, several times.  The driver ran off and was arrested a short distance away. According to the OPP the driver was impaired by drugs and the car was stolen. No one was injured as a result of this event.

A 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman faces charges including assault with a weapon, dangerous driving, impaired, obstruction of police, and possession of stolen goods, and drugs.

She is in custody pending a bail hearing.
