Saudi Arabia's decision to suspend all future trade deals with Canada is hitting close to home at the General Dynamics Land Systems plant in London.

Jim Reid represents nearly 500 workers at the facility, which has been providing light armoured vehicles to Saudi security forces under a contract signed by the federal government in 2014.

Reid says the dispute has created concerns in the community because General Dynamics is what he calls the “last big show” following the recent closures of other major industrial employers in the region.

The plant directly employs two-thousand people and there are fears the dispute over human rights could jeopardize Canada's controversial, multibillion-dollar arms deal with the Middle Eastern country.
