The Ohio man who may have died after a lightning strike has been identified.
According to WEWS-TV in Cleveland the deceased is 41 year old Joe Strong from Ravenna Ohio.
According to the OPP thunderstorms moved through an area near Walpole Island early Friday afternoon and Strong was on a boat with friends and family. When the storm hit they sought shelter in some weeds. People on the boat heard a loud crack and saw a bright flash and found him unresponsive.
A 911 call was made to the Canadian Coast Guard and they got the boat to shore at Walpole Island where Strong was pronounced dead. A post mortem to determine the exact cause of death was delayed and may now be held Monday in Sarnia.
