A London man was pulled to shore when he got into some difficulty yesterday in Grand Bend.
Provincial Police Spokeswoman Chrystal Jones says the 46-year-old swimmer panicked 20 metres off shore just before 5:30 in the afternoon.
The swimmer's wife and lifeguards brought him to shore and he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Jones says it's important to know your swimming limits.
She says the currents in Lake Huron are strong and water conditions change quickly and swimmers can easily be swept away from the beach.
Jones says no one should swim alone, and everyone needs to have a life preserver. (jlw)
