Oxford county is attracting the big cheese.
Gunn's Hill Artisan Cheese plans to start up a plant in Woodstock, producing three new products that aren't currently sold in Canada.
Oxford MP Dave MacKenzie announced 250-thousand dollars for the project, under the Sand Plains program, today near Woodstock.
He says the projected 6-thousand square foot plant is expected to process 600-thousand litres of milk per year to produce cheese using a traditional hands-on approach referred to as artisan.
MacKenzie says there will be a viewing area so visitors can watch how the cheese is made.
Most of the cheese will be sold at the farm, in local stores and served in restaurants.
Up to ten jobs are expected to be created when gunn's hill artisan cheese reaches full production capacity. (jlw)
